We have contracted with GFL Environmental Inc. for storm debris removal in the Town. There are a few items that need to be addressed to help insure the most efficient and timely removal of the extraordinary amounts of storm debris left by Hurricane Ian.

  • Please pile your debris in front of your house next to the street.
  • Please stack the piles at the curb – not the roadway - away from mailboxes, poles, water meters and hydrants.  We do not want to grab anything that is not meant for pick up.
  • Please do not place debris piles under tree limbs, claw trucks picking up debris piles will need clearance above the piles to be able to pick them up.
  • For safety, please keep road rights-of-way free from visual obstructions by stacking storm debris away from intersections and at heights that do not interfere with motorists’ and bicyclists’ line of sight
  • The debris needs to be cut into 6 foot lengths or less.
  • Sand bags will not be picked up. Please dump the sand in your yard and throw the used bags in the trash can.  Or you can take them to the county landfill in Astatula.

The Town's Storm Debris removal day is Thursday, 10/6/2022. This is for homes within the Town limits. If you have further questions regarding storm debris removal from Hurricane Ian, please call Town Hall at 352-324-2290.
