Police Department - 352-324-2030
As in all emergencies, the Howey-in-the-Hills Police Department is an active participant in the Lake County Emergency Operations Command Center (EOC) both providing and receiving information on a daily basis. The EOC is activate and HPD participates in round-the-clock coverage to ensure constant collaboration between all entities. FEMA has already reached out, and the HPD will communicate with them should the need arise. HPD regularly collaborates and offers services/assistance between all municipal agencies in Lake County, as well as the Lake County Sheriff's Office. In turn, they reciprocate when the Town of Howey is in need. To date HPD has not received nor requested supplemental service/assistance. To fully respect the Governor's request of social distancing, and due to the extremely small police station, HPD has not requested any volunteers. Currently, HPD is managing the regular and additional workloads with existing staff.
Public Services: Utilities, Code Enforcement, Building Inspection - 352-324-2290
The Public Services Department is maintaining normal operations and adhering to the required social distancing specifications.
