Who do I need to contact for a septic / drain field permit?

Can I get special inspections in the evenings and on weekends?
Inspections are conducted Monday through Friday between the hours of 7:00 AM and 5:00 PM, excluding holidays. Inspections are routed in the most efficient order, limiting our ability to schedule specific time slots. If a specific time slot is required, arrangements must be made in advance. Approved plans, permits, and other required documentation must be on-site and posted in a conspicuous location, clearly visible to the inspector from the road. The building address must comply with local ordinances and be clearly visible from the street. To avoid delays, inspections must be canceled before the inspector arrives at the job site.
Inspections can be scheduled using the online portal using your contractor ID. If you have lost your ID number, please contact permits@willdan.com.
May I shut my water off at the meter for repairs?
No. The town has a $50.00 Meter-Tampering Fee for any tampering with the meter. Town Hall will issue a courtesy turn-on and turn-off Service Order to assist you. If on the weekend, please call 352-343-2101 (Police Dispatch).
Should damage occur from meter tampering, the customer is responsible for all costs incurred.
May I file all my building, electrical, mechanical and plumbing at my own house?
Yes, the homeowner must sign and have notarized, the Owner / Builder Statement, have an approved permit, complete all required inspections, and comply with all owner/builder state laws.
